BenQ has just unveiled its complete line-up of Full HD 16:9 LED backlit display monitors. The range consists of 27 different models, all with a host of energy efficient features.

The extensive line-up will consist of three different categories – ultra slim, eco and everyday. According to Chee F Chung, general manager BenQ Australia, LED backlighting technology helps make every monitor in the range thinner and lighter than ever before.

Chung said that the range delivers ultra-high contrast ratios of up to 10,000,000:1 and use 30 per cent less energy than conventional CCFL displays. When switched to Eco mode, a further 30 per cent less power is consumed, making the full power saving in excess of 60 per cent.

“BenQ is undisputedly the world’s leading LED-backlit monitor brand. With more than 20 years expertise in developing display products of the highest standards, BenQ will continue to lead the market with strong competencies and market intelligence,” said Chung.

“It is BenQ’s belief that Full HD 16:9 LED monitors will quickly become the benchmark for visual enjoyment.”

Chung said that the energy saving features of LED is what sets it apart from the competition.

“Being energy efficient is the best way to reduce the household energy bill, and has a positive effect on the environment. Energy is an expansive resource and we all have an obligation to be carbon conscious,” said Chung.

“If just one in every 10 households upgraded to a BenQ LED backlit monitor and operated it in Eco mode for around three hours a day, not only would it represent a saving in energy and money, but it would potentially reduce greenhouse gas emissions by around 280,000 tonnes annually.”

There are currently 27 models in the BenQ Full HD 16:9 LED monitor range. Prices start at an RRP of $149 and go right up to RRP $549.
