SYDNEY, NSW: In another move demonstrating its aggressive whitegoods focus, Samsung Electronics Australia has today promoted Michael Richardson to the newly-created vice president, retail sales and marketing position. Richardson was formerly the retail sales and marketing director.

“2010 will see even more development, especially in the whitegoods division, where the company has identified a large growth potential which it will be aggressively addressing with new products, partnerships and marketing,” said a spokesperson.

“Samsung is striving to be number one in every segment it operates in and Michael’s promotion will help implement the strategy that is necessary to achieve this.”

Richardson, who holds an undergraduate degree from study at Monash and Macquarie Universities, will be working alongside Samsung’s head national accounts, Shaun Penrose in this role. Richardson has been at Samsung for six years. Previously, he worked at Philips Electronics for 12 years.
