LAS VEGAS: It looks like a clock radio or digital photo frame on steroids but it is actually Sony’s new Dash – a sophisticated wireless internet device that is more like a personalised seven-inch touch screen tablet.

Launched this week at the CES in Las Vegas, Sony describes Dash as "your favourite parts of the internet, customised the way you choose". With over 1,000 potential applications, Dash is a personal internet viewer that connects using a wireless network and features a touch screen and speakers to access a wide variety of content from personalised music and video through to information from Sony’s content partners.

Everything from Facebook updates and Gmail messages to traffic information, newspaper subscriptions and celebrity news, Dash is designed to be personalised for users of all ages and suitable for anywhere in the home or office.
