New tablet PC unveiled by HP

HP has just announced Australian release details for its latest range of notebook and desktop PCs. One of the most notable in the line-up is the TouchSmart tm2 touch screen tablet PC.

Janice Cox, vice president and general manager, personal systems group, HP South Pacific, commented on the range which consists of 10 new products.

“At HP we aim to bring the very best in available technology to our products and customers,” said Cox.

“As well as the breakthrough new technology evolutions we’re offering with these products, they’re powered by the most advanced Intel technology for home and office devices that we’ve seen to date.”

Tablet PCs are one of the buzz products in the CE market at the moment and HP is capitalising on this with the launch of the HP TouchSmart tm2.

The unit features multi-touch technology and is designed so consumers can interact with their PC in a natural and intuitive way.

The TouchSmart tm2’s 12.1-inch touchscreen supports digital pen and multi-touch gestures, weighs 2.18 kilograms and is powered by the latest low voltage Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Other features include an optional high multimedia performance performance ATI Mobility Radeon discrete graphics upgrades and nine hours battery life.

– The HP TouchSmart tm2 notebook PC will be available from February with an RRP of $1,999 including GST.

– The HP Pavilion dv6 is available now with a starting RRP of $1,299 including GST.
– The HP ENVY15 Notebook PC is available now with a starting RRP of $2,799 including GST.
– The HP Pavilion Elite, High Performance Edition desktop PC is available now with a starting RRP of $1,899 including GST.
– The HP EliteBook 8440p series notebooks will be available late February with a starting RRP of $2,699 including GST.
– The HP EliteBook 8540p/w series notebooks will be available late February with a starting RRP of $2,899 including GST.
– The HP ProBook 6540b is available now with a starting RRP of $1,199 including GST.
– The HP Mini 5102 is available mid February with a starting RRP of $599 including GST.
– The HP Compaq 8000 Series Elite Desktop PC is available now with a starting RRP of $1,199 including GST
– The HP Compaq 8100 Series Elite Desktop PCs will be available from March with a starting RRP of $1,599 including GST.
