Navman Australia has just confirmed that it will sponsor Top Gear Live when it returns to Sydney in February this year. The news comes on the back of a stellar Christmas season for the GPS supplier, where it sold more units than any other brand over the quarter.

According to Wendy Hammond, marketing director, Navman Australia and New Zealand, the company dominated the GPS market throughout the end-of-year sales period and sold more of its MY-Series range than any other sat-nav brand for the period.

“We put together an unbeatable combination of a superior range of products that were well-priced and offered, for the very first time, three years free maps and free traffic,” she said.

“Then we took our advertising onto TV with our fun ‘Love is in the air’ campaign as well as bus, taxi and online campaign that reached new groups of consumers, got them talking about the brand and drove them into stores.”

To help promote the brand even more, Navman has also just confirmed that it will return for its second year as a sponsor of Top Gear Live.

Top Gear Live will run from 11-14 February 2010 at Acer Arena in Sydney and features stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and Stig.

“We are very excited to be part of Top Gear Live again this year after the great support and attention Navman received at last year’s event,” she said.

“This year’s show will be bigger than ever and we will also be increasing our presence at the arena with a display stand inside the stadium which gives us an opportunity to talk to those attending the event about the benefits of GPS and of course owning a Navman GPS.”
