Samsung Electronics Australia has just announced three new appointments to its corporate marketing team with Jai Sanderson, Grant Vandenberg and Paul Croci coming on board.

“The broadening of the corporate marketing team demonstrates Samsung’s growing presence in Australia and its continued commitment to building an iconic brand in this market,” said Lambro Skropidis, head of corporate marketing at Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Our aim is to increase consumer awareness and dealer recommendation rates for the brand even further into 2010. We welcome Jai, Grant and Paul and are excited about the contributions they will bring to the team in Australia.”

Jai Sanderson will now take on the role as corporate communications manager and joins Samsung with 17 years of blue chip marketing experience. Sanderson has worked with many leading companies such as Reckitt Benkiser, Dairy Farmers and Cerebos Foods.

In this newly created role, Sanderson will report to Lambro Skropidis and will manage a team across sponsorship, PR, consumer insights and media to optimise Samsung’s brand positioning and reinforce its current market presence.

The second person to join the team is Grant Vandenberg and his role will be retail activation and training manager. Vandenberg comes from a respected FMCG background and has previously worked with Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson and Nestle.

This role is also newly created and will require Vendenberg to report to the head of marketing and work alongside the Samsung product managers and sales teams. The role is designed to help maximise retailer support and strengthen commitment to training the retail trade.

Finally Paul Croci will come on board as corporate research manager after a 13 year career as a market research manager. In the role, Croci will work with the corporate marketing team to further develop the marketing approach in the local market and manage Samsung’s research activities.
