Faulty panel heaters recalled by Sampford IXL

Sampford IXL has issued a voluntary product recall on certain panel heaters in its range due to a risk of fire and melting of internal components.

The recall is for Sampford IXL wall mounted panel heaters with model numbers 72625 (1800 watts), 72645 (2400 watts) and 72646 (2400 watts) and were sold nationally from 2005.

The reason for the recall is that the company has received reports of internal failures which may lead to overheating, resulting in potential fire of hazardous melting of internal product components.

Sampford IXL is urging customers to immediately stop using the heater and contact the company for a refund and to make arrangements for collection. It also stated that you should not attempt to remove and disconnect permanently wired heaters.

To contact Sampford IXL you can call 1800 035 410 in Australia or +61 3 9418 5881 from New Zealand. More information can also be found at www.sampfordixl.com.au.
