Sony Australia has just released information regarding its new home theatre projector range, which promises to be suitable for a range of home entertainment applications anywhere in the home.

The new range consists of three new models: VPLBW7 (RRP: $1,795), Bravia VPLHW15 (RRP: $4,299) and Bravia VPLVW85 (RRP: $8,999) and will all be available through Sony authorised AV dealers and IT distributors nationally in November 2009.

The VPLBW7 is the new entry level model in the range, but Sony insists that the lower price point doesn’t mean it compromises on image reproduction or brightness. The unit’s compact size means it is ideal to use in any space around the home and works great in any lighting conditions.

“The VPLBW7 is heaven sent for apartment dwellers who may not have the long throw distances required for traditional projectors. The portability and ease of use of this new projector marks a new standard at the entry level of the market,” said Vincent Bautista, product manager for Compact and Bravia Home Cinema Projectors, Sony Australia.

“Gamers and entertainment enthusiasts will be attracted by the affordable price point of the VPLBW7, but the vibrant colours and exceptional image quality of this projector will win over everyone in the family.”

The Bravia VPLHW15 is the next step up in the range and is designed for movie buffs and home entertainment lovers. It features SXRD technology, which minimises the space between pixels and dot-less picture, regardless of the surface. It also automatically selects the optimum contrast levels and responds to the level of light in the room.

“Sony has always been committed to delivering HD quality for home cinema and the VPLHW15 is the latest addition to the range that brings breathtaking images to your lounge room or home theatre,” he said.

“Most importantly, the affordable price of the VPLHW15 brings to life many people’s dream of a fully immersive home theatre that doesn’t break the bank.”

The final addition to the range is the Bravia VPLVW85, and is for those who want to upgrade to the ultimate device in home theatre technology. Positioned at the premium end of the market, the Bravia VPLVW85 has even won a European Imaging and Sound Association Award for Best Product 2009-2010 in the Video Projector category.

“The VPLVW85 gives consumers looking for the very best in home theatre exactly what they’ve been after. This projector delivers on the promise of a true cinematic experience for AV enthusiasts who are looking to give their home and family the best home theatre experience possible,” he said.
