MELBOURNE, VIC: TEAC has this morning joined rivals Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba in offering consumers a gift with the purchase of its LCD televisions.

Called the TEAC Christmas Extravaganza, the supplier is giving consumers a range of choices as to what free product they’ll get with their TV purchase.

Consumers who purchase one of three LCD/DVD combos, with pause and record functionality, will receive a free 250GB external hard drive (RRP $129).

Consumers who buy one of three LCD/DVD combos, sans the extra functionality, will receive either a portable DVD player (RRP $199) or a 5.1 channel HDMI DVD player (RRP $129). There are two other LCD/DVD combos in this promotion, with purchasers also receiving said DVD player or an iPod docking station (RRP $129).

That same DVD player is also available for consumers who purchase one of three standalone LCD TVs or 500GB HD personal video recorder.

Lastly, consumers who purchase either one of two multimedia LCD TVs or one of three set top boxes will receive a free DVD player (RRP $79).

All free extras must be redeemed through the TEAC website. This promotion is currently running and will conclude on 31 January 2010.

“We believe this offer shows exceptional value to the consumer in a trusted and long standing brand,” said TEAC senior product and marketing manager Daniel Seow.

“By purchasing one of our nominated products throughout the promotion, customers can receive a bonus gift for that extra person under the Christmas tree or a wonderful personal or family gift to be enjoyed over the summer holiday period. It also gives our customers yet another great reason to buy TEAC.”
