Remington Australia has been awarded a finalist position in the 2009 Australian Women’s Weekly Product of the Year awards for its Slimline Ceramic Straightener, the only haircare appliance among the finalists.

The awards celebrate the best products of 2009 across 15 categories and offer consumers the chance to vote for their favourite products.

The finalists are chosen from a panel of judges comprising of seven independent industry experts, including Deborah Thomas and Professor Kerryn Phelps.

Karen Markby, marketing manager, Remington Products Australia, commented on how the company’s Slimline Ceramic Straightener made the shortlist for the Favourite Small Appliance category.

“It’s a really great feeling to be noted as a finalist in these awards, as they’re chosen out of thousands of entries,” she said.

“To be the only hairstyling appliance in the competition is a real achievement and hopefully reflects our dedication to delivering quality, affordable, high performance products to our consumers.”

If Remington is successful in winning this award, it would be its third for the year after also winning the beautyheaven.com.au Glosscar award for its Shine Therapy straightener and the GfK award for No. 1 in Haircare.
