SYDNEY, NSW: To celebrate its first birthday in Australia, TiVo has announced three gift-with-purchase offers for consumers. The promotion will run through to the end of November, but is available through only three retailers.

Harvey Norman, the first retailer to sell the TiVo device, is offering the media centre, a TiVo wireless adaptor and a Western Digital 1-terabyte hard drive for RRP $999. In addition, Harvey Norman TiVo customer will receive a free Sunbeam popcorn maker with their purchase.

At JB Hi-Fi, TiVo consumers will receive a free $50 Hoyts movie voucher with their purchase.

The third and final participating retailer is The Good Guys. Consumer who purcshase a TiVo from a Good Guy will receive a 6-month subscription to one of six magazines: Better Homes & Gardens, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, InStyle, Practical Parenting or K-Zone.

Talking about these promotions is the CEO of Hybrid TV, the Australian licensee, Robbee Minicola.

 “The gift-with-purchase through our retailers is a way for us to say thank you to new customers for continuing to support our product,” Minicola said.

“These promotions will not only drive demand, but provide our resellers an opportunity to increase sales, provide a point of difference to their value proposition while rewarding consumers.

“2009 is the year of Television. TiVo loves free TV and with the new multi-channels on air like ONE HD and GO! as well as the new ABC3 kids channel and 7TWO, there are a million reasons to buy a TiVo for Christmas, with an extra gift from us to put under the tree.”
