BenQ has just announced its Spring 2009 line up, with 49 new products set for launch in the next few months. Some of the standout products include the world’s first 21.5” LED monitor, a portable palm sized projector, mini notebooks and a series of compact digital cameras.

At a launch event at Bondi’s Swiss Grand Resort and Spa, BenQ general manager, Chee Fui Chung, walked guests through the host of new products on offer and outlined the company’s plan for the upcoming months.

One of the company’s main endeavours is to promote LED technology in its range of monitors, projectors and netbooks. Chung discussed this further.

“We are moving into LED, it is the one area that we are incorporating across our key range of home and entertainment products,” she said.

“The first revolution was LCD, now the second generation is LED and we are taking the lead in this technology here today.”

Chung discussed some of the benefits of LED technology.

“LED gives brighter details and also darker details, in addition to better yellows. Combine this with ultra high contrast ratios of 5,000,000:1 and you can imagine the amount of detail an LED can show,” she said.

“Up until now the majority of LED technology has been found in TVs but now we are moving the technology into commodity products that can go into any workplace or office environment.”

Among some of the products shown off to guests was the world’s first 21.5″ LED monitor, the BenQ V2200/V2400 ECO, features a high contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, Senseye technology, Full HD 1080p, HDMI 1.3, and has a host of environmentally friendly features.

Also of note was the tiny GP1 Mini Projector, which is designed to be carried around and taken wherever you go. At just 640 grams the new projector also features the ability to plug in your personal media device to download movies, photos and music.

The projector also features LED technology to deliver images up to 80” in size and comes with an integrated 2W speaker.

Some other products on show include six new compact digital cameras, a whole range of LCD monitors, Joybook mini notebooks and a complete series of projectors for every type of consumer.
