KNOXFIELD, VIC: In celebration of 80 years of dishwashing manufacturing, Miele this week released 10 new dishwashers and all are 4.5-star WELS rated.
In 1929, Miele manufactured Europe’s first electrically powered domestic dishwasher, and now in celebration, the company has released 10 new dishwasher models in Australia with a 4.5 star WELS water efficiency rating.
One of the new machines is the Miele G 1574 SCVi, selling at the introductory price of $2,499. A fully integrated model, it has a 3-star energy efficiency rating in addition to its 4.5 star WELS water efficiency rating.
It achieves the low consumption levels through several improvements, including a new circulation pump which enables shorter wash cycles by allowing spray pressure to be tailored to meet the specific needs of wash programmes. High pressure is used for heavy soiling and lower pressure for sensitive crockery and glasses. This pump also results in low noise emissions ratings of the unit — it is whisper quiet during use.
Another new feature is ‘Light Soiling 50°C’, one of the new, shorter wash cycles added to the new models. According to the company, every Miele dishwasher programme has been developed focusing on the specific requirements for local market conditions. For example, the ‘SensorWash’ programme using only the necessary energy, water and time to clean the load and ‘QuickWash’ has an overall running time of just over half an hour.
In addition, the basket design of the G 1574 SCVi has been modified to optimise use of the cabinet space. Along with the addition of glassware rail support on the left hand side, the removable cutlery tray is now sectionable, which allows long stemware to be placed in the upper basket by simply removing the left half of the cutlery tray.
The dishwasher also has a new angled fascia as well as LED check indicators for the spray arm, filter and GlassCare.
All Miele dishwashers can be connected to a hot water supply of up to 60°C. This feature reduces water heat-up times and shortens the wash programme duration, to help reduce energy consumption.
