The original Wii Fit has sold over 700,000 units in Australia and Nintendo has just announced the official release date and pricing for the new update to the series, Wii Fit Plus.

The upgrade to the hugely successful original, will feature all of the original features of Wii Fit plus several new features like the option to customise and design your own workout, additional exercises, estimates of calories burned and 15 new balance games.

According to Nintendo, Wii Fit Plus can recommend an appropriate workout that suits you, and helps the user focus on their individual fitness goals and target areas. The option to set how much time you have available for a workout can also be programmed.

The new Wii Fit Plus will be available from 15 October 2009 and will come either bundled with a Wii balance board for RRP $159.95 or as a standalone game for $29.95. The addition of a standalone game means that owners of the original Wii Fit can transfer their progress and saved information over to the new title.
