Samsung announced last week that it has launched a new social media campaign called Tap & Take, where it will harness the power of Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to promote its new range of digital cameras.

The Tap & Take campaign is designed to promote the new ST550 and ST500 dual LCD screen, compact digital cameras.

Samsung has created a dedicated website to promote the service (www.tapandtake.com) and it provides consumers with useful information and insight into the latest technologies in the world of digital imaging.

One of the best aspects of the new promotion is that consumers have a chance to win a new ST550 or ST500 camera, just by simply following the Tap & Take Twitter page or becoming a ‘fan’ of the service on Facebook. Consumers can then submit comments to Samsung or respond to Samsung’s questions to win. The promotion ends 1 October 2009.

The Tap & Take name was created due to the tap feature on the new Samsung ST550 and ST500 models, where all you have to do to take a photo is tap the touchscreen display.

The new models also feature a dual LCD screen so you can easily take self portraits from in front of the camera.

According to SSamsung, over 2,700 fans have joined the Samsung Australia Facebook group since the campaign launched in August.
