SYDNEY, NSW: Mobile phone accessories distributor Cellnet has secured distribution of what it claims is the toughest screen protector product on the market.

The BodyGuardz range, which covers everything from the iPhone to Sony’s PSP and GPS units, has already won the iWorld ‘iPod and iPhone accessory of the year 2008’ due to its strength, thinness and clarity.

According to the company, the plastic is the same used to protect car bumpers and grills from stone chips, and several independent reviews online say the product is the best protector on the market.

BodyGuardz is especially proud of its product’s ‘glass-like clarity’ and smooth finish, judging by its website. It points to reviews that state other screen protectors have an odd dimpled finish and do not sit as flush when fitted.

There are downsides, though. One is its price. At $28.95 RRP, the product’s supposed high quality does not come cheap. Secondly, it requires customers to turn off their device and leave the product to ‘cure’ for between 12 to 24 hours.

If the salesperson can sell past these problems, it may be a good way of upping the total sale when people purchase a popular portable gadget.
