SYDNEY, NSW: Logitech Australia marketing manager Nick Angelucci is currently promoting a Father’s Day gift for the luckiest of dads. He believes the Swiss-based computer peripherals manufacturer’s premium universal remote is the ideal gift for dad, and the selling point: it makes life easier for Mum.

Cynics will call him supremely optimistic, but Angelucci is positioning the Logitech Harmony 1100i Advanced Universal Remote as an appropriate gift this Sunday, despite the ambitious RRP $899 price point.

The crux of his argument is that if you give the Harmony as a gift, the real winner is the household. Whereas other universal remotes might combine TV, the DVD player and the pay TV provider into one controller, this remote can also control the temperature.

“It’s the perfect solution for decluttering your lounge room, but best of all, it’s a Father’s Day gift he will love, but the giver will too,” said Angelucci.

“With the ability to control up to 15 devices in your lounge room, you have to ability to control everything from the DVD player to the lights to the air con all with the one device.”

The Harmony 1100i is a palm-sized remote with a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen. It has customisable icons and controls, a rechargeable battery and 1-touch controls. According to Logitech, this model can work with more than 225,000 devices from over 5,000 brands.
