Hitachi Appliances Inc and Temperzone Australia Pty Ltd announced earlier in the week that they have both signed a strategic alliance which will see Hitachi air conditioning products exclusively distributed by Temperzone.

This alliance will see Hitachi, one of the largest manufacturers of air conditioning equipment in the world, and Temperzone, the largest local air conditioning manufacturer, join forces to create a single sales, marketing and distribution structure.

“Hitachi has a fantastic range of product that forms an ideal complementary range to Temperzone’s,” said Alan Channels, Temperzone managing director.

“Being able to add the Hitachi chillers, VRF, wall hung splits, inverter ducted, cassette and under ceiling units, to our existing range will allow us to offer a complete range of air conditioning products through our national distribution network. No other company will be able to offer such a comprehensive range nationally.”

The new strategic alliance will commence on 1 October 2009 and will see all Hitachi sales and technical staff, inventory and spare parts fully integrated into the Temperzone structure. Temperzone will also handle all spare parts and warranty issues for Hitachi products.

“Hitachi and Temperzone both see this alliance as an excellent opportunity to grow the combined business in Australia,” said Channels.

“In the future we see new products jointly developed and Hitachi product manufactured locally for the Australian market under license. This alliance is a very exciting development for both Temperzone and Hitachi.”
