Microsoft has just announced that from tomorrow it will be bundling its Xbox 360 Pro console with two games from one of its most successful franchises, Halo. In addition to this it is also running a consumer event in Sydney this weekend to show of replica vehicles and sets from the series.

Microsoft Australia has confirmed that from 6 August, a new console bundle will be available from retailers around the country which includes an Xbox 360 Pro console with 60GB hard drive, Halo 3 and Halo Wars.

Since its introduction in November 2001, the Halo franchise has delivered exceptional sales for the console. The newest additions to the series Halo 3 and Halo Wars are no exception to this and are now among the highest selling Xbox games of all time for their genre.

The new bundle is available while stocks last and will RRP for $449.

In additional Halo news, Microsoft is encouraging all diehard fans to head down to Cockatoo Island this weekend, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August, to see the Xbox Warthog from the Halo series.

The Xbox Warthog is a full size replica of the vehicle used in the games and will be based in a two storey ‘crash landing’ set designed exclusively by Weta Workshop of New Zealand.

The event is to celebrate the upcoming launch of the latest Halo game in the franchise, Halo ODST, which will be available on 22 September 2009.

In addition to seeing the Xbox Warthog and the ‘crash landing’ set, fans will also be able to play Halo 3 against each other.
