SYDNEY: New South Wales businesses and retailers who interact with Hong Kong may want to take a look at the upcoming Hong Kong-NSW Business Awards, launched recently.

The 10th anniversary of the awards, the ceremony recognises excellence by small and medium-sized business that trade with Hong Kong in various capacities, are accepting nominations for the 2009 awards, according to the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association (HKABA) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

Categories include Export of Goods, Export of Services, Import of Goods, Import of Services, Creative SME, and Contribution to Industry.

Each category winner will receive an award and a yet to be determined prize from the category sponsor. An overall grand prize of a trip to Hong Kong is on offer from QANTAS.

According to the HKABA, the judges will be looking at; professional approach to business practice; proportion of import/export turnover; contribution to industry and society; standard of marketing strategies; level of innovation and creativity; presentation and consumer/environmental contribution of products and/or services.
