SYDNEY: Tefal’s gold sponsorship of the Alliance French Film Festival was declared a success with crowds in excess of 80,000 watching the films this year. Tefal has now announced the winners of its $50,000 consumer promotion.

The Alliance French Film Festival is one of the largest and most popular Film Festivals in Australia.

“This year has proven to be another great event with a record turn out over 80,000 attendees, which us up from last year,” said Tefal marketing manager, Filiz Bensan.

“This is a reflection of the increased interest in movie goers who enjoy the French cinematic experience, as well as the diverse selection of popular French films.

“The French Film Festival is a very important event and there are a number of strong synergies between the Tefal brand and the festival audience,” said Bensan. “The festival has helped to reinforce the quality and innovation of the Tefal brand across Australia and to support all of the activity we are currently undertaking.”

To promote the new partnership to retailers and consumers, Tefal supported the sponsorship with a strong consumer promotion. Consumers who purchased a Tefal product between April and May could enter a competition by stating in 25 words or less what their favourite Tefal product was and why. The major prize was a ‘Culinary Tour of France’ for two. Other prizes include additional kitchen makeovers and electrical and cookware prizes. The total prize pool was valued over $50,000.

“It is great for Tefal to offer a strong promotion which links Tefal to its origins as a French brand,” said Bensan.

“We are also excited about our customers being involved in the sponsorship and promotion as they are very loyal to our brand. We received a very strong response with a number of creative entries. It is great to see the number of consumers who are passionate about the Tefal brand. A lot of this success is due to the support of our retail partners who really got behind the promotion.”
