SYDNEY: Harvey Norman is currently holding its inaugural international conference at the Dome at the Olympic Park in Sydney. Amongst those exhibiting to retailers from all over the world are Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and LG.

Talking about this event is Harvey Norman executive director David Ackery, as recorded in his conference notes.

“The Electrical Division of Harvey Norman has grown dramatically over the past 26 years and in particular over the last couple,” said Ackery.

“We aim to continue this level of growth with a stronger emphasis on technology and a greater speed to adapt and move with the times.”

Exhibitors at the conference ranged from the consumer electronics brands to the less famous players, including Imation, Crest Electronics and Hisense.

The purpose of the conference is to increase and stimulate relationships between supplier sales reps and franchisees. Current.com.au understands that franchisees are required to visit all the supplier stands, with stamps recorded in a conference passport.

“The Electrical Conference is always an important event providing our franchisees and key business Partners with a unique opportunity to interact over a five day period.

“This year we are planning to make this Conference another constructive and memorable occasion.”

In a sign of how international the Harvey Norman brand has become, Ackery noted that delegates would be attending from Slovenia, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and all over Australia.
