SYDNEY: Sony Australia has announced the July release of the successor to Australia’s number one selling television by value – the 46-inch 200Hz Z Series Bravia – which will once again be marketed as a product specifically for sports enthusiasts.

The Z5500 series represents the second generation Motionflow 200Hz Bravia LCD TVs and features three screen sizes – 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch.

The three full HD 1080p panels feature DVB-T tuners, Bravia Engine 3, 24P True Cinema, 4 xHDMI, DLNA, BRAVIA Sync, XMB (XrossMediaBar) menu system and Ambient Light Sensor.The three screens will be available ‘in-store’ from July 2009, however prices are still to be confirmed.

“Sony has pioneered the ultimate technology for sports lovers – Motionflow – which gives sport and fast moving action the smoothest picture possible,” said Sony Australia product manager – visual display, Jan Ergen.

 “Australia has embraced this technology by making the first Motionflow 200Hz Bravia TV the number one selling LCD TV in the country. Thanks to the demand we have received from consumers, we are delivering our second generation 200Hz LCD TV in the coming months.”

The KDL46Z4500 was the number one selling LCD TV in value from December 2008 to April 2009. Based on votes from electrical retailers from around Australia, the KDL40Z4500 was named the Product of the Year at the recent Electrical Retailing Awards (ERAs), while the KDL46Z4500 was a finalist in this category.
