SYDNEY: The full list of ERA nominees for Retail Store of the Year has been announced. Harvey Norman leads the way with an impressive 13 store nominations, but the Good Guys is right behind them, with 10 franchises up for a major prize.

Today’s announcement comes after the New South Wales and Tasmanian nominees were announced last Friday. Joining Harvey Norman and the Good Guys with multiple nominations are WOW Sight & Sound and Retravision, each with two store nominations.

In addition to being the most nominated retail group of the year, Harvey Norman also has the sole distinction of being recognised as a finalist in every state and territory in Australia. From Fyshwick in the ACT to Cambridge Park in Tasmania, the superstore in Auburn and up north in Darwin; Harvey Norman will represent the whole country at this year’s awards.

The Good Guys, though should be very proud of its performance, with the Pay Less Pay Cash crowd get nominations in every mainland Australian state. In Victoria, it has done especially well, with three of the five Retail Store of the Year nominations being Good Guys franchises.

A number of lesser known stores are up for gongs this year, with the good folk at Murray Oakley Discounts in the Northern Territory, Spartan Electrical in South Australia and E & S Trading in Victoria all being honoured.

Best Retail Store, Victoria: E & Trading Essendon, Good Guys Bayswater, Good Guys Brighton, Good Guys Frankston, Harvey Norman Chadstone.

Best Retail Store, Queensland: Clive Anthonys Mermaid Waters, Good Guys Browns Plains, Good Guys Capalaba, Harvey Norman Bundall, WOW Sight & Sound Kedron.

Best Retail Store, Western Australia: Good Guys Cannington, Harvey Norman City West, Harvey Norman Osborne Park, Kambos Malaga, Retravision Joondalup.

Best Retail Store, South Australia: Good Guys Mile End, Good Guys Pooraka, Harvey Norman Marion, Harvey Norman Munno Para, Spartan Electrical.

Best Retail Store, Northern Territory: Good Guys Darwin, Harvey Norman Alice Springs, Harvey Norman Darwin, Murray Oakley Discounts, WOW Sight & Sound Darwin.

Best Retail Store, New South Wales: Bing Lee Old Guildford, Good Guys Castle Hill, Harvey Norman Auburn, Harvey Norman Fyshwick, Winnings Redfern.

Best Retail Store, Tasmania: Clive Peeters Moonah, Elite Appliances Hobart, Harvey Norman Cambridge Park, Harvey Norman Hobart, Harvey Norman Launceston.

It is expected that the nominees for Best Retail Organisation will be announced tomorrow.

The winners will be announced in Sydney on 17 April 2009.
