SYDNEY: Fujitsu General has this morning donated $50,000 to the Victorian Red Cross bushfire appeal. Panasonic and Sony also made considerable donations to the Victorian bushfire appeals. Representitives of all three companies spoke passionately about how important it was to help out.

Speaking about this contribution is Fujitsu General director – marketing and sales, Philip Perham.

“The damage caused by the recent bushfires has been absolutely devastating and our thoughts are with all those who have been affected,” said Perham.

Fujitsu has joined Panasonic and Sony, amongst other electrical appliance suppliers, in contributing financially to the relief effort.

Last week, Panasonic pledged around $500,000 in cash and products to victims of the bushfires, with the Australian managing director, Steve Rust, saying, “The enormity and horror of the Victorian bushfires deeply saddens us all.

“We offer our support and ask all Australians, including those we work closely with to give a little to support those who have lost so much.”

Sony Australia has already donated $100,000 in cash and a further $100,000 in product vouchers to the Salvation Army disaster appeal.

“Facing something as disastrous as this, we will do what we can to provide some relief and comfort for those affected,” said Sony Australia managing director, Carl Rose.
