Vodafone has today announced the pricing for the new BlackBerry Storm handset, which is only available through that carrier.

The handset is available from 1 December 2008 and is valued at $899. This valuation is somewhat irrelevant, however, as the BlackBerry Storm is only available via contract and will not be made available for outright purchase.

All the currently released contract details are for 24-month plans, with the BlackBerry Storm device included free in the contract.

The pricing details are:

-$69 per month for $340 included talk and TXT, with unlimited email and internet.
-$79 per month for $550 included talk and TXT, with unlimited email and internet.
-$99 per month for $650 included talk and TXT, with unlimited email and internet.
-$119 per month for $1,000 included talk and TXT, with unlimited email and internet.
-$149 per month for $2,000 included talk and TXT, with unlimited email and internet.

“Today we announce that we’re bringing the BlackBerry Storm to Australia with a sensational $0 offer with unlimited BlackBerry email and internet usage.

“BlackBerry Storm is the first device to come to fruition following an agreement between Vodafone, Verizon and RIM to develop and bring to market cutting edge smartphones on the BlackBerry platform,” said Vodafone Australia CEO Russell Hewitt.
