SYDNEY: De’Longhi’s new built-in and freestanding BBQs and modular cooking centre range enables consumers to build outdoor cooking centres and take the inside of their home outside.

“The outdoor cooking phenomenon is evolving,” said De’Longhi product manager, major appliances and comfort Helen Finlayson, in Appliance Retailer magazine.

“Not just satisfied with cooking their meals outdoors, consumers are now looking towards preparing their creations in the same outdoor environment.

“De’Longhi has recognised this and will be launching a range of outdoor modular cooking cabinets during the 2008/2009 season.”

This outdoor cooking centre range has been developed to withstand the Australian climate with high grade 21CT stainless steel, which De’Longhi advises has an increased chromium content for a higher corrosion resistance. De’Longhi says that 21CT is also less susceptible to stress corrosion.

Also manufactured using 21CT stainless steel are De’Longhi BBQs, which are available in a choice of two freestanding models — the seven-burner model DELUX7FS21 for RRP $2,499 and the nine-burner DELUX9FS21 for RRP $3,499 — and the built-in eight-burner model DELUX8BIS21, RRP $2,999.

All three models are available in LPG and natural gas. The freestanding models include a rotisserie, smoker burner and side wok burner.

To assist retailers and consumers, all De’Longhi BBQ’s are supplied pre-assembled with heavy duty casters. Standard features also include battery powered electronic ignition, ceramic flame tamers, a slide out gas cylinder storage shelf and storage drawers. A durable outdoor cover is also provided.

The fully assembled outdoor modular cooking cabinets have drawers and heavy duty casters. The inter lockable cabinets are also available with built in side burners, built in sink and tap, corner units as well as a refrigerator option.
