Yamaha has announced that all existing wholesale and recommended retail pricing will remain stable until at least 31 December 2008. This news comes a week after both Whirlpool and Sunbeam flagged future price rises.

Speaking about this is Yamaha general manager – audio visual, Simon Goldsworthy.

“Like any company in Australia that imports product, we are very concerned and not immune to the devaluation of the Australian Dollar to major world currencies,” said Goldsworthy. “However, what we do not know at this time is how prolonged this devaluation will be.

“If the devaluation is sustained for an extended period then our prices will go up. In the short term we prefer not to confuse the market or disrupt our dealers by introducing price increases during this very busy and important retail sales period.”
