SHEPARTON: WOW Sight and Sound’s growth continues with the company’s first Victorian retail store opening today in Shepparton. It brings the total number of WOW stores to 13, and will provide over 40 local jobs.

Shepparton, the first Victorian city to be ‘wowed’, is located on the corner of Benalla Road and Doyle Street, and the occasion will be celebrated today with a range of grand opening activities and discounts.

“It’s shaping up to be a massive opening day with some great specials on our already affordable selection of high quality products,” WOW director of Retail Con Nicholas said.

Nicolas said the store will be a boost for the area with new job opportunities for Shepparton residents.

“We’ve employed over 40 full-time and casual staff who have undergone extensive training to become ‘electronics specialists’,” Nicholas said. “It’s vital to our reputation that our staff members are actually knowledgeable about the products we stock in order to be helpful to our customers.”

In addition to a wide range of DVD’s and CD’s, Nicolas said the new Shepparton store will feature a plasma wall and home theatre room and one of the biggest car audio soundboards in the world.

“Our stores are designed to deliver the ultimate experience for customers both in terms of products and fit out,” he said.

“With our trademark eight metre high ‘WOW Entertainment Tower’ as a centrepiece we are confident Shepparton will definitely provide the WOW factor!”
