BERLIN: The co-owner of Miele, Dr Markus Miele, will visit Australia in the first half of 2009 to inspect the substantial investment the company has made in the local market including state showrooms, state offices and logistics.

Dr Miele told Current.com.au in an exclusive interview on the company’s stand at the Internationale Funkaustellung (IFA) in Berlin, that he would like to see the new Miele showrooms in Australia which are being progressively opened throughout the country.

“I plan to spend a week in Australia visiting Melbourne and Sydney as well as Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide. In Australia, you are growing so fast that we had to overcome capacity restrictions with an investment in logistics. We have also upgraded our showrooms,” Miele said.

“Australia is such a big country. We can see that the cities are developing differently. I am interested to learn whether there is a specific reason for this.

Dr Miele said he is also enthusiastic to visit one of the company’s latest subsidiaries in New Zealand.

“I am very interested in visiting New Zealand as I have never been. There is an old saying – seeing for one time is better than reading for 100 times. I have read about New Zealand 99 times, so it is time I make the visit.”
