In a statement released today, Pioneer said that Izumi replaces the outgoing managing director, Yasuo Sakuma, who earlier this week announced his retirement from the Pioneer Corporation.

Izumi will head the Australian subsidiary and brings 24 years of international marketing and sales experience at Pioneer, including a two year stint in both Germany and Netherlands, as well as working in the United States for eight years.

“It’s with great respect and excitement that Pioneer Electronics Australia welcomes Mr Toshio Izumi to the position of managing director,” said Pioneer Electronics Australia CFO, Bruce Blythe.

“Once again, we acknowledge the valuable contribution Yasuo Sakuma has made to the Australian subsidiary, as we farewell him back to Japan, whereby he can be spend more quality time with his wife and children.”
