SYDNEY: Logitech has announced the release of a cordless laser mouse for notebooks that features a clip for easier mobility. This new clip feature is called the Clip-and-Go Dock.

The new V550 Nano cordless mouse for notebooks has been designed specifically for mobile notebook users, with Logitech claiming particular emphasis was placed on wireless environments. The mouse communicates with the notebook with 2.4 GHz technology, while the receiver is designer to protrude no further than 8 millimetres from the notebook.

The Clip-and-Go Dock is for notebook users who prefer a mouse to a touchpad, yet find the lugging of the mouse cumbersome or the mouse itself too easily to lose. With this new dock and mouse, users are able to move between locales without having to unplug and pack up their mouse.

Talking about this innovation is Logitech senior VP and general manager, Control Devices, Rory Dooley.

“Logitech research revealed that the vast majority of people who use a notebook PC are mobile both within and outside the home,” said Dooley. “To meet the demands associated with increased mobility, the V550 mouse offers a complete set of features to make it easier to use a mouse with a notebook when moving from the kitchen to the living room or from one’s desk to a meeting.

“Now, you won’t have to choose between grabbing your mouse or a cup of coffee.”

The Logitech V550 Nano cordless laser mouse for notebooks will be available from late August at RRP $99.95.
