SYDNEY: Philips new 1920 x 1080p Full HD Design Collection 9000 series LCD TVs, available in 42", 47" and 52", feature a two millisecond response rate, a 100 Hz refresh rate and 2.250 trillion colours.

Using its new second generation Pixel Plus HD Engine, Philips says its flagship TV range ‘delivers the highest possible picture quality found on LCD TVs’.

In addition, the 17 bit Colour Booster can display up to 2.250 trillion colours, and was designed to reproduce richer colours and realistic skin tones.

While Philips says its Perfect Contrast Technology not only makes the darks darker and the bright brighter, but also reduces the effect of light ‘leakage’ for dark scenes — and Philips says the result is a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 55,000:1.

Available from August in the 42" and 47" sizes, the three models in the 9000 Series start at RRP $3,299 for the 42" model, the 47" model is RRP $3,999, while the 52" is RRP $5,299 and will be available from October.

In keeping with its environmentally friendly credentials, these 9000 series models have a 0.15 watt standby power.
