SYDNEY: Sony’s Playstation 3 giveaway with every Full HD Bravia LCD TV sold between 1 July and 31 July, has been a success with all 35,000 PS3 consoles claimed by consumers with two days to spare in the promotion.
When Current spoke with Sony Australia’s general manager, sales, David Hargreaves in late June, he was confident that Sony could sell 35,000 Bravia TVs in the month.
A statement from Sony today thanked retailers for their support of the promotion:
“In partnering with sister company Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, Sony was able to deliver this exceptional deal for consumers and is very pleased that all the PS3 consoles have been redeemed.
“This promotion provided a high profile sales opportunity for retailers during the pre-Olympics period and would not have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of Sony retail partners nationally.”
