SYDNEY: Procter & Gamble (P&G) has today confirmed the appointment of Pilar Gardiazabal as the new assistant brand manager for Braun and Oral B, reporting to Braun and Oral B business manager George O’Neil. Gardiazabal has worked for Procter & Gamble in her native Chile for 18 months.

Starting in Australia almost a month ago, Gardiazabal is very excited about the new role, which sees her deal with both consumers and retailers on product developments such as the Series 7 for Braun and the Oral B Triumph with Smart Guide.

“The opportunity to work on global category leading brands is very exciting from a marketing perspective. These brands are committed to delivering measurable and noticeable benefits for consumers, which also makes my role very rewarding,” said Gardiazabal.

After completing a Masters in Marketing from the Adolfo Ibanez University in Santiago, Gardiazabal worked at Procter & Gamble’s Chilean offices. Specifically, Gardiazabal worked on the Ariel range of laundry detergents. It was during this time that she had the opportunity to holiday in Australia, which would prove to be a seminal experience.

“The first time I came for a holiday here I couldn’t believe how great the lifestyle was.  So I really wanted to come back and live here for a while and was offered the opportunity to transfer to P&G Australia,” said Gardiazabal.
