SYDENY: As its annual traveling roadshow hit Sydney last night, LG showed off its LCD and plasma TV ranges as well as leading products including new whitegoods and inverter air conditioning units.

On show was the Scarlet series of LCD TVs available in 32-, 42-, 47- and 52-inch sizes in Full HD (excluding the 32-inch model) and in either 50 Hz (the LG60 models) or 100 Hz (on the LG61 and LG65 models). Highlights of the range include the Invisible Speakers which are fitted into the bezel and the Intelligent Sensor that analyses ambient light and automatically adjusts picture settings like brightness, contrast, color and sharpness to optimise the picture.

LG was also showing off its Wireless Home Theatre System (HT903WA) with Full HD 1080p, Up-Scaling DVD player, i-Pod connection and USB Direct Ripping for RRP $899.

New in refrigeration is LG’s Side by Side In-Door Ice Maker Refrigerators in stainless steel finish. The ice maker is built in the door of the unit, providing two extra shelves of usable freezer space. Other features include a 721 litre capacity, touch LCD Control, LG’s One Touch Homebar (GR-P257STS for RRP $5,624), Moist Balance Crisper and a wine rack.

Finally, the newLG Deluxe (S09SWN-4) Inverter Split Air Conditioning range features LG’s innovative low noise level technology creating 20 dB in sleep mode on the indoor unit. It also has up to a 12 metre air throw to cool large spaces, and a Plasma Air Purifying system to reduce odours and allergens and an auto cleaning function that uses a the fan to dry condensation inside the unit after it has been turned off. Available from September, the RRP starts from $1,311 and it is available in 2.6kW to 7.0kW capacities.
