Braun, Oral-B announce BMW prize, marketing spend

SYDNEY: Braun and Oral-B have today commenced their consumer Father’s Day promotion, with the brands offering one customer the chance to win a BMW Series 7 or $25,000. Concurrent with this promotion, Braun and Oral-B are offering a free pair of headphones with certain purchases.

The promotion is timed to coincide with Father’s Day, and will run until 29 September. To win the opportunity to scoop the BMW Series 7, consumers will have to buy any Braun male shaver or Oral-B rechargeable toothbrush power handle.

After buying one of these products, consumers must register the purchase with Braun and Oral-B. After the close date, one consumer will be drawn out to play the final game. This game involves the selection of one bag from a field of 100. Of these bags, 99 will contain $25,000 and one will hold the keys to BMW Series 7. At worst, the winner of this promotion will win $25,000.

In addition to having the chance to win the BMW, customer who purchase a Braun Series 5 or Series 7 shaver, or an Oral-B Triumph with SmartGuide, will receive a free pair of Sennheiser headphones (PX100, $99.95). This value-add will be made available via redemption.

Braun and Oral-B will be supporting these categories and promotions during the Father’s Day period with a marketing spend exceeding $1 million. This will include television and print commercials, editorials, public relations and in-store point of sale material.

“All retailers should make sure they have enough stock on hand to support this mammoth Braun & Oral-B consumer promotion, with as much point of sale material and off-location displays as well,” said Oral-B & Braun product manager Goran Dravec.
