LG Touches on a Secret

Keeping in step with rivals iPhone and Samsung, LG has dramatically expanded their Touch Series of mobile phones. Additionally, the Korean brand has announced that there will soon be four new models in this range, including the much-hyped Secret.

Touch capability is big selling point in today’s market, with LG marketing manager (mobile communications) Carli Wilson saying, “Today’s mobile phones are incredibly powerful communication and entertainment devices. To better utilise the capabilities of these devices and meet consumer demand, LG believes the touch screen interface is the future.”

The first three handsets are the KF700, the KF390 and the KS20. The first of these features a full touch screen, slide keypad, 3.0 megapixel camera, MP3 player and Bluetooth connectivity. This model will be available on all carriers.

The KF390 is a Telstra-exclusive handset that has a 2.0 megapixel camera, MP3 player, access to dual 3G network and is sealed with the Telstra Next G Blue Tick of Approval, whatever that is.

Finally, the KS200 has a full touch screen, WiFi internet connection, Windows Live, MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity and a 2.0 megapixel camera. This model is available exclusively through Optus.

The Touch Series comes ahead of the upcoming Secret model, which is to be launched locally on Tuesday 24 June. This model is the subject of a controversial viral advertising campaign depicting a peeping-tom scenario. In the short film, a man uses his LG Secret phone to undress a neighbouring woman, before activating a fire alarm, drenching her with the water from above sprinklers.

Specifications of this phone, according to independent sources, include a 5 megapixel camera, auto-rotating display, MP3 player and Bluetooth 2.0.
