SYDNEY: Bing Lee has confirmed it will not move from its Wollongong store, despite building owner, health fund AHM, departing the premises in June.

Originally reported in the Illawarra Mercury, speculation arose into the future of the current Bing Lee Wollongong store location after AHM announced plans to relocate their offices.

However, Bing Lee general manager, Phil Moujaes, told Current.com.au the lease held by the company overrode any building ownership issues arising from AHM’s departure.

“As far as we’re concerned, until we get more information on it, there’s really nothing to say for us. We’ve got a long lease there in the shop.”

Moujaes said Bing Lee’s lease was not a sub lease and was therefore separate to that of AHM.

“We have a lease and that lease is a long lease,” he reiterated.
