SYDNEY: Philips Electronics Australia has pre-empted the iPhone’s Australian arrival by announcing a range of iPhone accessories and peripherals to be distributed through partner iWorld Australia.

The initial Philips DLO range, so-called because the range will be made by recent acquisition DLO, will include portable speakers, auto and home chargers, car mounts and a variety of cases in different materials complete with desktop stands.

iWorld Australia director, Chad DeClase, said the accessories’ arrival would help sate demand as the local iPhone launch drew nearer.

“We believe the iPhone release is the most anticipated product launch in Australia in recent years. With the iPhone release date now imminent, iWorld Australia is ready to support consumer demand with a large selection of Philips DLO products including speakers and new case solutions,” DeClase said.

Philips Consumer Lifestyle Australia general manager, Matthew Moran said the iPhone would help accelerate a rapidly expanding market.

“Peripherals and accessories are among the fastest growing categories in the consumer lifestyle space today. There is no doubt that the iPhone will further accelerate this growth and through our DLO range of products, there will be an extensive selection for consumers to choose from to individualise and enhance their iPhone experience,” he said.
