SYDNEY: Siemens has hired communications sales expert Chris Middlemast — ex NEC and Telstra — as sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.

In his career to date, Middlemast has spent 16 years at NEC Australia in sales and marketing for mobile phones and accessories and 11 years at Telstra. For the past two years, Chris worked in the retail and point of sale industry.

“Chris will help drive the Australian expansion of Siemens, which is internationally renowned for giving the home and office phone a mobile phone-style makeover,” said Siemens general manager Australia and New Zealand Dean Verberne.

“With 27 years dedicated to the communications industry, we are confident Chris can help grow the Siemens market share and strengthen the brand to the Australian consumer.”

Based in Germany, Siemens is now sold in 69 countries and Australia is the next target for the company which aims to be a market leader in every market it participates in.

“Chris will help bring more Australians up to speed with our award-winning phones, recognised across the globe for their high quality and design. It’s time Australians experienced a new era of style in communications,” said Verberne.
