SYDNEY: LG has released their latest top-load washer – the 10 kg, 4-star WELS rated WT-R107.

The WT-R107’s 4-star rating makes it one of only a small number of 10 kg top-load washers on the Australian market. It uses LG’s proprietary ‘Direct Drive Motor’, beefed up with a ‘Dual Direct Drive’ system to help cope with the heavier drum, but still maintains a 3-star energy rating.

“The new LG 10 kg top-load washer will enable consumers to reduce the number of laundry loads, while at the same time maximising water efficiency and energy during each wash,” said LG Australia major appliances category manager, Glacel Lubrin.

The WT-R107 also uses LG’s ‘TurboDrum’ feature, which spins the drum in the opposite direction to the agitator to generate a more powerful washing action, with, LG claim, les tangling. It also has a wool/silk and hand-wash setting to reduce damage to delicate clothes.

As with other LG top-load washers, the WT-R107 also has an ‘Air Dry’ system, which sucks air out through the holes in the drum’s sides to improve drying while spinning, and uses different water levels throughout the washing cycle to improve detergent concentration and effectiveness.

The WT-R107 retails for $1,624 and is available now.
