SYDNEY: Sharp Australia has released two new business-oriented projectors, the Notevision PG-F312X and PG-F212X, which claim to project brighter colours and increased ease of use.
The two projectors use Sharp’s ‘BrilliantColour’ technology and six-segment colour wheel to improve colour reproduction, while offering up to UXGA (1600 x 1200) resolution.
The lower-end PGF212X is claimed to project images at up to 2300 ANSI lumens, with the higher-end PGF312X capable of projecting images at 3000 ANSI lumens, giving what Sharp claims is “excellent performance, even in a bright classroom or conference room environment”.
Sharp’s claims of better user comfort are based on the new models’ use of a full remote control to assist with presentation functions. It includes a page up/down controller, GUI pointer, spotlight and optional computer mouse control.
The new models can be directly powered off, has an auto restart and keystone correction of up to 20 degrees.
For quieter operation, Sharp has moved the exhaust system to the front to help minimise viewer disturbance from fan noise or airflow.
Both the new projectors use DLP technology to deliver uniform colour reproduction and a long usage period. Sharp claimed it minimised maintenance issues thanks to the projector’s DLP sealed system and filter-free lamp construction.
The projectors also use a new lamp design with “excellent dust resistance”, which the user can replace easily. Sharp claims the bulb can run up to 4,000 hours.
Connectivity includes a DVI terminal, computer/component (mini D-sub 15 pin) terminal, S-Video (mini DIN 4 pin), video (RCA), audio, USB (Type B) and RS-232C sockets.
The Sharp PG-F312X and PG-F212X are available now with RRPs of $1999 and $1599 respectively.
