SYDNEY: Miele has teamed up with famous German kitchen maker Poggenpohl and Porsche Design to create the first ever Porsche Design kitchen.
The P’7340 kitchen, on display at the DesignEX show in Sydney, combines custom-made Miele Appliances with Porsche designed fittings, such as motorised, one-touch drawers and special sink fittings.
Miele general marketing manager, Cliff Thompson, said the collaboration formed part of Miele’s desire to increase partnerships in the industry.
“As all electrical appliances and furniture elements in the Poggenpohl Porsche Design kitchen need to form a unified whole, Miele has been selected as the exclusive supplier for all appliances worldwide – from ovens to steam cookers and from dishwashers to built-in coffee machines,” said Thompson.
“All appliances are made especially to match that of the materials used in this kitchen. With their glass fronts, touch controls and Porsche Design handles, the Miele appliances perfectly suit the P’7340’s ultra-cool appearance,” he said.
The arrival of the kitchen in Sydney before the renowned Milan Furniture Fair next week was a coup for Miele, Thompson said.
“The very fact that you can view the Poggenpohl Porsche Design kitchen here today, i.e. even before the important Milan Furniture Fair in Italy next week, is a major coup for us and an example of the very close partnership between two independent and successful German companies.”
