SYDNEY: Electrolux Home Products ANZ has announced that its director of product marketing, John C Brown, will succeed Trevor Carroll in the managing director’s chair when Carroll retires on 14 April.

Brown’s appointment to the top job was announced at a sales conference yesterday afternoon and ended months of uncertainty following Carroll’s announcement last December of his intention to retire this year.

Brown has held a number of management roles at Electrolux during his nine years with the whitegoods maker, including as operations director with responsibility for logistics, supply chain, service and spare parts.

“John has long experience from several management positions in Electrolux Australia and New Zealand,” said Electrolux Major Appliances Asia Pacific head, Gunilla Nordström.

“He has broad and deep knowledge of our business, customers and consumers, and a proven operational track record. This makes him an excellent candidate to further grow the Electrolux business in Australia and New Zealand.”

Carroll will continue to serve on the Electrolux Home Products ANZ board and will run special projects, the first with a focus on China, reporting directly to Nordström.

“John Brown succeeds Trevor Carroll who, during his long tenure with Electrolux, successfully steered the company though a period of profound change with increased investments in product development and brand building,” she said.
