SYDNEY: Sunbeam’s Café Series Grill has been recognized with a Red Dot design award while the company’s Ceramic Collection Kettle KE9300 also received an honorable mention from the judges.

In a press release issued today, Sunbeam director of product design and development, Brian Johns, heaped praise on the local designers working on the premium Sunbeam products.

“This is a fantastic achievement for our local design and technology team,” he said.

“Last year, we received two Red Dot awards for our Café Series food processor and juicer. This new accolade further highlights the strong design principles which guide our new product development, particularly within the Café Series.

“The Contact Grill & Barbecue is a versatile product similar to those found in commercial environments such as cafes, which we have adapted for the domestic kitchen. It’s also shortlisted for the Australian Design Awards 2008 so we are hopeful for its continued success.

“The Ceramic Collection Kettle achieved an Australian Design Award last year and we’re thrilled that our unique concept has now also been recognized on the world design stage.”

This year’s Red Dot design awards received entries from 51 countries with 3,203 individual submissions in total submitted for judging.
