SYDNEY: Bing Lee has ‘soft-opened’ its new 770 square metre Chatswood store, with a full ‘grand opening’ planned for next month.

The new store, located on level six of the Chatswood shopping centre, sits opposite Borders bookstore.

Bing Lee chief executive Lionel Lee said the new store was going well.

“We’ve got a good young team there and after three days trading we’re very happy with sales so far,” he said.

Bing Lee managing director Phil Moujeas said the official opening was scheduled to happen after Easter, but had opened the store on Monday as “we were ready”.

“We still haven’t finished all the merchandising in the store. That will probably be finalised in a couple of weeks’ time and then we’ll be looking at doing a grand opening after that,” he said.

Bing Lee previously had a Chatswood store in another location, but were forced to close it when their lease expired. The new store’s opening comes almost exactly a year after the previous store closed.
