MELBOURNE: Retravision Southern has appointed two new board members including former Victorian finance minister, Ian Smith, and experienced senior executive and chartered accountant, Terry O’Dwyer.

In a statement released this afternoon, Retravision Southern Board Chairman, Trevor Elsworthy, said the retailer is “delighted by the addition of two such experienced and qualified directors, and welcomes the contribution they will undoubtedly make to the future growth of the company.”

“They will be a huge asset to the current strength of our board and we look forward to commencing a mutually beneficial journey,” said Elsworthy.

Ian Smith has extensive senior executive experience in a range of both private and public environments. 

According to Retravision Southern, Smith has strong finance, advisory and business background having held appointments on many boards and as a former Victorian Government Minister of Finance.

Terry O’Dwyer is a chartered accountant and the current executive chairman of Backwell Lombard Capital. 

He is also currently the chairman of a publicly listed Metal Storm Ltd and a director of Bendigo Bank and Queensland Theatre Company.

O’Dwyer’s previous appointments include managing partner and chairman of BDO Kendalls, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, AICD and the Commissioner of the Legal Aid Commission.
