Consumers who own one of the above products are advised to contact 1800 008 226 from Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm EDST (toll-free) to organise a service technician to check the terminal block connections on site. Consumers are advised to have their model name and serial number details available when calling.

Fujitsu’s marketing and sales general manager, Philip Perham, said the company’ was committed to provide customers with “the highest quality product”.

“It is for this reason that we have decided to conduct a national recall on four models of air conditioners manufactured by Fujitsu General Japan,” he said.

“The recall is being carried out so that we can check the integrity of a number of electrical connection points within the outdoor units and this will be completed by selected service agents. This action has been brought about by the failure of two single outdoor units only, amongst almost 14,000 in the field.”
