SYDNEY: Breville has won three prestigious 2008 iF product design awards for its Professional 800 Collection small appliances, the BES820 espresso machine and two toasters, the forthcoming BTA840 and BTA820.

Breville said today the three Professional 800 Collection products were among multiple winners in the Product Design category, which received 2,771 entries from designers in 35 countries.

While the awards have been formally announced, the iF awards ceremony will be held on 3 March in Germany.

Breville’s director of design and innovation, Richard Hoare, said the award is a tribute to the Sydney-based appliance company’s extensive research, rigorous testing and use of premium materials.

“iF is an internationally renowned organisation that has been honouring forward-thinking design for over 50 years,” said Hoare.

“It’s an impressive accolade for the Breville design team to be recognised by such a respected organisation.”

The BES820 (RRP $599.95) was launched last November, while the two-slice toaster model BTA820 (RRP $129.95) and the four-slice version, BTA840 (RRP $179.95) will be available in late April or early May.
